Yeng Constantino ready to show her “brand new” self

People always hit her with negative comments about her fashion sense and her music style, but Yeng Constantino is not one to  gets affected easily.
In her six years in show business, the former Pinoy Dream Academy grand star dreamer has learned to accept criticism and to be inspired with compliments.
“Parang mas secure ako ngayon,” she told PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) and other media in an interview during the opening of Academy of Rock at Power Plant Mall, Rockwell Drive, Makati City recently.
“Siguro nag-mature ako as a person when it comes to criticisms.
“Nakikinig ako pero hindi ko naman lahat tine-take personally, especially ‘yong mga bad criticisms.
“Kailangan kong kunin ‘yong magaganda then, itapon ‘yong hindi maganda, mas nagma-mature ako through that.”
She further said, “At the same time, hindi ko iniisip, honestly, alam mo ‘yon, na parang produkto ka lang.
“I’m really just expressing myself.
“At the same time, kumo-compromise ka kasi hindi lang naman ikaw ‘yong tao sa island. Natuto na ako.”
TRYING OUT NEW STYLE. In her earlier years in showbiz, Yeng was usually tagged as “baduy” because of the way she dresses. However, it seemed out of character for her to follow the latest fashion trends.
Trying different styles is part of her growth.
“Plus, ayaw ko ring ma-bore sa mga ginagawa ko,” she added.  Gusto ko po talaga na parang ano, ‘Gusto kong tikman ‘to. Ano kaya ang lasa niyan?’
“Kapag sobrang astig, ‘Wow! Okay pala ‘yon.’ Kapag pangit, ‘Ay!’
“So, parang try and try lang until you find your style.
“‘Yong season ng buhay ko parang nahanap ko na ‘yong pinakagusto ko. Masasabi ko na mas confident na ako ngayon.”
